If enquiries are sent to GW via the contact form implemented on the website, the data provided there will be stored. The data will not be used for any purposes other than processing and responding to your enquiry.

If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, for example, the data provided there will be stored. The data will not be used for any purposes other than processing and responding to the enquiry or in the case that follow-up questions arise.

GW would like to point out that persons under the age of 18 should not transmit any personal data to GW without the consent of their legal guardians. Such data from minors will not knowingly be requested, collected, passed on or used in any other way.

However, this may mean that GW is no longer able to fulfil its contractual duties (enabling a user to exercise their rights, providing an offer, etc.).

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by contacting GW Wirtschafts GmbH, Neustädtische Kirchstraße 8, 10117 Berlin, e-mail address: office(at)gas(dot)info

Access Data
The website operator or site provider collects data about access to the site and stores it as ‘server log files’. The following data is logged in this way:

  • Website visited
  • Time at the time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference from which you reached the page
  • Browser and browser version used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used

The data collected is only used for statistical analyses and to improve the website. However, the website operator reserves the right to check the server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

Matomo
We use the web analysis service Matomo from InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand (‘Matomo’) to statistically analyze our website.

Matomo is an open source tool for web analysis. We host Matomo on our own server and operate it locally. The tracking codes have been deactivated for the use of Matomo, so we use it without the use of cookies. We use the anonymized data collected to analyze the use of our website and individual functions in order to continuously improve the user experience. By statistically evaluating user behavior, we improve our offering and make it more interesting for visitors.

The information collected in this way is stored exclusively on our server and automatically deleted on a regular basis. No data is passed on to third parties or transmitted to servers that are outside the control of GW. When you visit our website, your IP address is further processed in abbreviated form using the ‘Anonymize Visitors’ IP addresses’ setting (anonymization of 3 bytes). This excludes the possibility of direct personal identification and you as a user remain anonymous. The following data is collected:

  • anonymized IP address of the user's accessing system
  • the website accessed
  • the website from which the user accessed the website (referrer)
  • the subpages that are accessed from the accessed website
  • the time spent on the website
  • the frequency with which the website is accessed

Further information on Matomo can be found here.

Web Fonts
This site uses web fonts from Lineto GmbH, Lutherstrasse 32, CH-8004 Zurich for the standardized display of fonts. The web fonts used are installed locally on our web server. A connection to the provider's servers and thus a transmission of the IP address does not take place, but cannot be ruled out 100 per cent.

Cloudflare
We use the ‘Cloudflare’ service. The provider is Cloudflare Inc, 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter referred to as ‘Cloudflare’). Cloudflare offers a globally distributed content delivery network with DNS. The information transfer between your browser and our website is technically routed via the Cloudflare network. This enables Cloudflare to analyze the data traffic between your browser and our website and to serve as a filter between our servers and potentially malicious data traffic from the Internet. Cloudflare may also use cookies or other technologies to recognize Internet users, but these are used solely for the purpose described here. The use of Cloudflare is based on our legitimate interest in providing our website as error-free and secure as possible (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO). The data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. You can find details here. Further information on security and data protection at Cloudflare can be found here and on the Data Privacy Framework here. Cloudflare has also drawn up a voluntary commitment to comply with the European GDPR.

ZOHO
GW uses services provided by Zoho Corporation B.V., Hoogoorddreef 15, 1101BA Amsterdam (hereinafter “Zoho”). You can see which services these are and what influence they have on your personal data in the following sections. Zoho is committed to complying with European data protection regulations. Further information on this can be found on the Zoho website. GW uses Zoho exclusively on European servers. We use the Zoho service “Campaigns” to register for and send newsletters.

The following information explains the content of our newsletters, the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation process and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.

Content of the newsletter
We only send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications with advertising information (hereinafter “newsletter”) with the consent of the recipient or with legal permission. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described when registering for the newsletter, they are decisive for the user's consent. Our newsletters also contain information about our offers and promotions, our company and the latest news from the energy sector.

Zoho Campaigns
The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on Zoho's EU servers in Amsterdam and Dublin. Zoho uses this information to send and analyze the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, Zoho may, according to its own information, use this data to optimize or improve its own services, for example to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, Zoho does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.

We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of Zoho and have concluded a ‘Data Processing Agreement’. This is a contract in which Zoho undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection provisions and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view Zoho's privacy policy here.

Registration Data
To register for a newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your e-mail address. Optionally, we ask you to enter your first name and surname. This information is only used to personalize the newsletter.

Statistical Survey and Analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called ‘web-beacon’, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the Zoho server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, is initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our endeavor nor that of Zoho to observe individual users. Rather, we use the analyses to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Online Access and Data Management
There are cases in which we direct newsletter recipients to Zoho's websites. For example, our newsletters contain a link that newsletter recipients can use to access the newsletter online (e.g. in the event of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, such as their e-mail address. Zoho's privacy policy is also only available on their website. In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on Zoho's websites and therefore personal data is processed by Zoho, its partners and the service providers used (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in Zoho's privacy policy. We would also like to draw your attention to the options for objecting to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites www.aboutads.info and www.youronlinechoices.com (for the European area).

Cancellation/Revocation
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. You can also cancel your subscription at any time without giving reasons by sending an e-mail to office(at)gas(dot)info or in writing to: GW Wirtschafts GmbH, Neustädtische Kirchstraße 8, 10117 Berlin. After cancellation, your data will be deleted except for the e-mail address. The e-mail address will be stored in a blacklist and will only be used to ensure that we do not send any further e-mails to your e-mail address.

Legal Basis DSGVO
In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), we inform you that consent to the sending of e-mail addresses is obtained on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, 7 DSGVO and § 7 para. 2 no. 3 and para. 3 UWG.

The use of the mailing service provider Zoho, the implementation of statistical surveys and analyses as well as the logging of the registration process are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We are interested in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and the expectations of users. We would also like to point out that you can object to the future processing of your personal data in accordance with the legal requirements pursuant to Art. 21 DSGVO at any time. In particular, you may object to processing for direct marketing purposes.
